What Is an ECB Support Coach?
This programme has been designed to give learners the knowledge, skills and confidence to support qualified coaches and enhance player experience.
An ECB Support Coach is not qualified to lead coaching sessions independently and therefore must be supervised by a qualified cricket coach. Candidates must be 16 years and above to attend the course
What is the makeup of the course?
The programme consists of three modules in total. Two e-learning modules are integrated with one face-to-face module.

There are two ‘bitesize’ e-learning modules
• M1: Introducing Support Coach – Introduces the learner to the programme providing an overview of its outcomes and expectations.
• M3: Being an ECB Support Coach – Explores how assistant coaches enhance players’ experiences using a variety of scenarios.
Face-to-face module
There is a single face-to-face module that runs for three hours:
1. Role of an ECB Support Coach
2. What does support coaching look like?
3. Coaching–yourturn
4. Player welfare and safeguarding
5. Coaching fielding, bowling and batting
Safeguarding for coaches and Activators
Safeguarding for coaches and Activators is issued separately by ECB e-learning is complimented by tasks completed during the face-to-face module.
Assessment
Learners are assessed by an online multiple choice question paper found in module 3.
