Our next Grassroots Cricket Awards Winner is Lou Walker of Crowthorne & Crown Wood CC. Lou was awarded the Growing the Game Award for Berkshire. The Growing the Game award is given to someone “going above and beyond to support club(s) and help increase the number of games played.” The award was presented by Tom Jackson – BCF Club Support Manager.

While nominating Lou, Anita said “Lou became our ladies fixtures captain very soon after she joined our club last season (2021). She masterminded our games, had us playing every week (sometimes twice a week). This season she was voted head of women’s cricket and hasn’t stopped, she now organises hardball and softball fixtures (sometimes within a matter of hours if clubs pull out of fixtures).”
